These Safety Guidelines explain Mitly's public-only safety expectations, optional manual safety tools, user responsibilities, and the limits of Mitly's safety role.

1. Safety Philosophy

Mitly is designed around public-only social planning, clear rules, messaging records, reporting, moderation, and optional manual safety tools. These features are intended to support safer decision-making and platform accountability.

Safety still depends on user judgment, public venues, respectful conduct, lawful activity, clear boundaries, and contacting emergency services when needed. Mitly cannot guarantee safety or prevent all harm.

2. Public-Only Planning

Users should plan only lawful public activities in ordinary public venues or public events. Public settings may include coffee shops, restaurants, museums, shopping areas, public entertainment venues, sightseeing areas, public networking events, and similar places where ordinary members of the public may be present.

Users should not agree to private homes, hotel rooms, private rooms, isolated locations, vehicles as primary locations, secluded areas, or sudden changes from public to private locations.

3. Before a Public Plan

Before a public plan, users should review the other user's profile, keep messages on Mitly where possible, choose a public venue, confirm date and time, set expectations, maintain transportation control, tell a trusted person where they are going, keep their phone charged, and decide personal boundaries in advance.

Users should not share private addresses, financial credentials, identity documents, passwords, or unnecessary sensitive information with other users.

4. During a Public Plan

During a public plan, users should stay in public areas, keep control over transportation, maintain personal boundaries, avoid leaving drinks unattended, avoid impaired decision-making, watch for pressure or manipulation, and leave if uncomfortable.

If another user pressures for a private location, sexual conduct, illegal activity, hidden details, or rule violations, the safer response is to disengage, leave, and report the conduct when safe.

5. Manual Check-In and Check-Out Tools

Mitly may provide manual check-in and checkout tools. These tools may create platform records showing that a user manually marked a status at a time. They are not proof of safety, not live monitoring, not continuous tracking, and not a guarantee that Mitly will see or respond immediately.

Users should not rely on check-in or checkout tools as a substitute for telling trusted people, choosing public venues, maintaining transportation control, or contacting emergency services.

6. Emergency Button and Reports

Mitly may provide emergency buttons or report tools. These tools may help preserve a record, alert Mitly moderators or support when available, or organize follow-up review. They are not a substitute for 911 or local emergency services.

If you are in immediate danger, call emergency services first. Use Mitly's report or emergency tools only when it is safe to do so.

7. No Live Monitoring or Background Location Tracking

Mitly does not provide live monitoring, background location tracking, continuous supervision, personal protection, police dispatch, medical response, rescue, or guaranteed intervention. Browser, device, network, and permission limitations may prevent location or notification features from working even when such features exist.

Mitly may review safety reports after they are submitted, but Mitly does not promise real-time review or emergency response.

8. Warning Signs

Users should be cautious if another user pressures them to move to a private location, asks for secrecy, refuses public venues, asks to avoid Mitly messages, discourages check-ins, requests prohibited conduct, offers suspicious money, threatens retaliation, asks for sensitive information, becomes aggressive, or tries to isolate the user.

Trust your judgment. If something feels wrong, leave if safe, contact trusted people, contact emergency services if necessary, and report the issue to Mitly when safe.

9. Reporting Safety Concerns

Users should report harassment, threats, prohibited conduct, private-location pressure, fraud, impersonation, unsafe behavior, suspicious activity, or rule violations. Reports should be truthful and made in good faith.

Mitly may review reports, messages, public-plan records, account history, safety records, and other relevant information. Mitly may restrict accounts, preserve evidence, contact users, or take other action in its discretion.

10. Limits of Mitly's Role

Mitly provides technology tools and platform rules. Mitly does not supervise plans, accompany users, verify real-time conduct, guarantee identity, guarantee safety, guarantee attendance, monitor all messages in real time, or assume responsibility for user decisions.

Users remain responsible for personal safety, lawful conduct, public venue choices, boundaries, transportation, and emergency decisions.

11. Contact

Non-emergency safety questions may be sent to support@mitlyapp.com. Immediate danger should be reported to 911 or local emergency services first.
