This Emergency Policy explains the purpose and limits of Mitly's emergency-related tools, report workflows, and user responsibilities.
1. Immediate Danger: Call Emergency Services First
If you are in immediate danger, believe another person is in immediate danger, need urgent medical help, need police assistance, or face an emergency, call 911 or local emergency services first. Mitly is not an emergency service provider and cannot guarantee immediate review, dispatch, rescue, police contact, medical response, or intervention.
2. What Mitly Emergency Tools May Do
Mitly may provide emergency buttons, report tools, safety records, manual check-in records, manual checkout records, message records, and admin review workflows. These tools may help create a record, notify Mitly support or moderators when available, organize follow-up review, preserve evidence, or support account enforcement after an incident.
The exact behavior of a tool may depend on browser permissions, device settings, internet access, server availability, account status, and product configuration.
3. What Mitly Emergency Tools Do Not Do
Mitly emergency tools do not call 911 for you, do not dispatch police, do not dispatch medical help, do not provide rescue, do not provide personal protection, do not provide live monitoring, do not provide background location tracking, and do not guarantee immediate human review.
Pressing a Mitly emergency button or submitting a report does not guarantee that Mitly will see, investigate, or respond in time to prevent harm.
4. User Responsibilities in Emergencies
Users are responsible for contacting emergency services when needed, choosing public venues, leaving unsafe situations when possible, contacting trusted people, preserving evidence when safe, and using Mitly tools only when safe.
Users should not delay calling emergency services because they submitted a Mitly report or pressed a Mitly emergency button.
5. Mitly Review After Emergency Reports
After a report or emergency event, Mitly may review available information, including public-plan records, messages, account history, check-in and checkout records, report details, user statements, and technical metadata. Mitly may restrict accounts, preserve records, contact users, request more information, or take other action in its discretion.
Mitly may not be able to verify all reports or determine what happened. Mitly's review is a platform moderation process, not a law enforcement investigation or emergency response.
6. Evidence Preservation and Disclosure
Mitly may preserve information related to emergency reports, safety reports, suspected prohibited conduct, fraud, abuse, or legal risk. Mitly may disclose information where required or permitted by law, court order, subpoena, regulator request, law enforcement request, emergency request, or where Mitly believes disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or legal interests.
7. False or Abusive Emergency Reports
Users may not submit false, malicious, retaliatory, abusive, or knowingly misleading emergency reports. Misuse of emergency or report tools may result in warnings, restrictions, suspension, permanent ban, or other platform action.
This rule does not discourage good-faith reports. Users should report genuine safety concerns even if they are uncertain, but reports should be as accurate and complete as reasonably possible.
8. No Safety Guarantee
Mitly's emergency-related tools and policies do not guarantee safety, prevention, detection, investigation, intervention, recovery, or accountability. Users use Mitly and participate in public plans at their own risk, subject to the Terms of Use and applicable law.
9. Contact
Non-emergency questions about this Emergency Policy may be sent to support@mitlyapp.com. If there is immediate danger, call 911 or local emergency services first.
