This Privacy Policy explains how Mitly collects, uses, shares, stores, protects, and otherwise processes information in connection with Mitly's website, membership access tools, public profile directory, public-plan request tools, messaging, moderation, reporting, and optional manual safety tools.

1. Scope and Relationship to the Terms

This Privacy Policy applies to Mitly's website, account tools, public profile directory, membership features, public-plan request tools, messaging tools, support tools, moderation tools, reports, and optional manual safety tools. It applies when you visit Mitly, create an account, browse public profiles, apply for an approved public profile, purchase or manage membership access, send or receive a public-plan request, message another user, submit a report, use safety tools, contact support, or otherwise interact with Mitly.

This Privacy Policy should be read together with Mitly's Terms of Use, Membership Refund and Cancellation Policy, Community Rules, Member Rules, Approved Public Profile Rules, Safety Guidelines, and Emergency Policy. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Use. If a conflict exists between this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use regarding privacy practices, this Privacy Policy controls for privacy-specific issues.

2. Mitly Is a Membership Platform, Not a Real-World Service Provider

Mitly is a membership-based public social planning directory and technology platform. Mitly sells membership access to platform features only. Mitly does not sell meetings, attendance, companionship, friendship, dating, transportation, security, emergency response, or any real-world service.

Because Mitly does not process separate user-to-user amounts, Mitly does not use payment information to pay approved public profiles, calculate profile earnings, release user-to-user funds, administer tips, or handle withdrawals. Privacy practices related to membership billing are limited to Mitly membership access, payment processing, fraud prevention, subscription administration, taxes where applicable, customer support, disputes, and legal compliance.

3. Information You Provide Directly

Mitly may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, login credentials, profile details, public biography, city, age where collected, photos, gallery images, availability preferences, public-plan interests, profile application answers, support messages, reports, safety notes, public-plan details, messages, acknowledgements, checkbox acceptances, membership selections, and any other information you choose to submit.

If you apply for or maintain an approved public profile, Mitly may collect additional profile review information, such as verification status, application details, compliance acknowledgements, profile images, public activity preferences, availability, moderation notes, account status, and related operational records. Do not submit information that you do not want Mitly to process for the purpose for which you provide it.

4. Account, Membership, and Billing Information

Mitly may collect and process account and membership information, including user identifiers, membership status, subscription status, membership start and end dates, cancellation status, renewal status, payment processor customer identifiers, payment processor subscription identifiers, transaction identifiers, invoices, receipts, billing events, failed payment events, dispute notices, refund review notes, tax-related information where applicable, and related support records.

Mitly may use third-party payment processors for membership billing. Mitly generally does not store complete payment card numbers when payment processors handle card data directly. Payment processors may collect, process, and store payment information under their own terms and privacy policies. Mitly receives limited billing and subscription information from payment processors so that Mitly can activate, suspend, cancel, or manage membership access.

5. Public Profile Directory Information

Mitly may display approved public profile information to visitors, members, and other users. Public directory information may include a profile name, slug, city, age where displayed, public biography, public interests or tags, public photos, public availability indicators, public-plan expectations, verification or approval indicators, and other information approved for public display.

Mitly uses a public-safe profile boundary. Public browsing should not expose private operational fields such as phone numbers, emergency contact information, identity document paths, private verification notes, internal moderation notes, payment processor account identifiers, private safety records, or other non-public account details. Users are responsible for understanding that public profile information can be viewed by others and may be indexed, copied, screenshotted, or shared by third parties outside Mitly's control.

6. Public-Plan Request and Messaging Information

Mitly may collect and process public-plan request records, including proposed public venue or event, proposed date and time, expected duration, public-plan details, status labels, acceptance or decline records, cancellation records, check-in or checkout status, message thread identifiers, timestamps, and related metadata.

Mitly may process messages and communications sent through the platform. Messages may be used to operate the messaging feature, enforce rules, review reports, detect prohibited conduct, investigate safety concerns, preserve records, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations. Users should not share sensitive personal information, private addresses, financial credentials, passwords, identity documents, or unnecessary private details through Mitly messages.

7. Safety, Check-In, Emergency, Report, and Moderation Records

Mitly may collect safety-related records, including manual check-ins, manual checkouts, emergency button events, report submissions, blocked user records, moderation notes, administrative review actions, support communications, evidence submitted by users, message records related to reports, public-plan records related to reports, account restrictions, suspensions, bans, and related metadata.

Mitly's safety tools are optional manual support and recordkeeping tools. Mitly does not provide live monitoring, background location tracking, continuous supervision, police dispatch, medical response, rescue services, personal security, or guaranteed safety. Safety records may be retained to investigate reports, enforce rules, preserve evidence, support legal compliance, and protect Mitly, users, and third parties.

8. Location and Device Information

Mitly may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, app or browser version, referring URLs, pages viewed, timestamps, click activity, diagnostic information, crash logs, approximate location derived from IP address, and security or fraud signals.

Mitly's current web model does not promise live or background location tracking. If a feature requests browser location in the future, location collection will depend on your device settings, browser permissions, operating system limitations, network conditions, and whether you choose to allow the permission. You should not rely on Mitly as a real-time location monitor or emergency tracking service.

9. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

Mitly may use cookies, local storage, session storage, pixels, analytics tools, logs, and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember sessions, protect accounts, measure performance, understand feature use, prevent fraud, maintain security, troubleshoot errors, and improve the platform.

You may be able to control some cookies through your browser settings. If you disable certain cookies or storage tools, some Mitly features may not function properly, including login, membership status, saved preferences, security checks, or messaging.

10. How Mitly Uses Information

Mitly may use information to provide, maintain, secure, debug, personalize, analyze, and improve the Services; create and manage accounts; display public profiles; administer membership access; process membership billing; manage subscription status; facilitate public-plan requests; operate messaging; provide support; enforce Terms and policies; review reports; prevent fraud; protect safety; detect prohibited conduct; maintain records; comply with law; and defend legal rights.

Mitly may also use information to send account notices, membership notices, billing notices, policy updates, safety reminders, support messages, security alerts, administrative notices, and other service-related communications. Where permitted by law, Mitly may send marketing communications, and users may opt out of marketing communications as described in the message or account tools.

11. How Mitly Shares Information

Mitly may share information with other users as necessary for platform functionality, such as displaying public profile information, showing public-plan request details to the relevant participants, enabling messaging, showing status updates, or communicating safety and report-related information where appropriate.

Mitly may share information with vendors and service providers that help operate the platform, including hosting providers, database providers, analytics vendors, fraud prevention vendors, payment processors, subscription management services, email and communications providers, support tools, security vendors, and professional advisors. These providers may process information only for authorized purposes and subject to applicable obligations.

12. Legal, Safety, and Compliance Disclosures

Mitly may disclose information if Mitly believes disclosure is required or permitted by law, subpoena, court order, legal process, regulator request, law enforcement request, emergency request, or similar obligation. Mitly may also disclose information where Mitly believes disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or legal interests of Mitly, users, or others; prevent fraud; investigate abuse; enforce rules; preserve evidence; or respond to safety concerns.

Mitly is not an emergency service provider. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or local emergency services first. Submitting a report to Mitly or pressing a Mitly emergency button does not guarantee immediate review, police contact, medical response, rescue, or intervention.

13. Data Retention

Mitly may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain accounts, administer membership access, support billing and tax records, resolve disputes, enforce policies, review safety reports, preserve evidence, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, improve the platform, and protect legal rights.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the reason it was collected, legal requirements, operational needs, safety needs, dispute needs, and whether an account has been deleted, suspended, banned, or otherwise restricted. Mitly may retain certain records after account deletion where necessary for legal, safety, fraud prevention, billing, tax, dispute, moderation, or compliance purposes.

14. Security

Mitly uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No website, database, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their login credentials, using secure devices, avoiding suspicious links, and promptly notifying Mitly of suspected unauthorized access.

Mitly may use security tools, access controls, logging, monitoring, rate limits, and fraud signals to protect the platform. These measures do not guarantee that unauthorized access, misuse, data loss, or security incidents will never occur.

15. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. You may also have rights related to marketing communications, cookies, and certain data uses. To exercise privacy rights, contact support@mitlyapp.com.

Mitly may need to verify your identity before responding to a privacy request. Mitly may deny or limit requests where permitted by law, including where information must be retained for legal compliance, safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, billing, tax, moderation, or legitimate business purposes.

16. Children and Minors

Mitly is intended only for adults who are at least eighteen (18) years old. Mitly does not knowingly allow minors to create accounts, purchase memberships, create approved public profiles, send public-plan requests, or use the Services. If Mitly learns that a minor has provided personal information, Mitly may delete the information and restrict the account.

If you access Mitly from outside the United States, you understand that information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other locations where Mitly or its service providers operate. 18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Mitly may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are material, Mitly may provide notice through the website, account tools, email, or other reasonable means.
